Veteran tennis star Novak Djokovic is set to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics, aiming to finally capture the elusive gold medal.
This will be his fifth Olympic appearance, having participated in every Games since Beijing 2008.
Djokovic, now 37, secured a bronze medal in his debut Olympics but has twice fallen short in the third-place match at subsequent Games.
He declared Paris 2024 a “priority” earlier this year, highlighting his determination to achieve Olympic glory.
Paris Return and Tournament Details:
This will be Djokovic’s first time competing in Paris since withdrawing from the French Open due to a knee injury.
The Olympic tennis events will be held at Roland Garros, the French Open venue, from July 27th to August 4th.
Competition and Withdrawals:
Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal are confirmed to join Djokovic in the men’s competition. Murray sees the Games as a potential farewell tournament.
Ons Jabeur (world No. 10) and Aryna Sabalenka (world No. 3) have opted out of the women’s tournament to prioritize their health.
Djokovic will be joined by compatriot Dusan Lajovic (world No. 56) on the Serbian team.
