- Bauxite and diamond revenues saw significant increases
Ghana’s gold production has risen from 3.7 million ounces in 2022 to 4 million ounces in 2023, marking an 8.3% increase, according to the Ghana Chamber of Mines.
This growth is attributed to the expansion of small-scale mining, despite a decline in large-scale gold production.
The country also saw significant increases in bauxite and diamond revenues, while manganese export proceeds decreased slightly.
Gold production increased by 8.3% to 4 million ounces in 2023, driven by small-scale mining expansion.
Large-scale gold production declined from 3.1 million ounces to 2.9 million ounces in 2023.
Small-scale production surged by 70.6% from 0.66 million ounces to 1.1 million ounces.
