Tragedy struck on the Bolgatanga-Tamale Road as General Sergeant Bismark Frempah, 38, the outrider assigned to former President John Agyekum Kufour, lost his life in a devastating collision.
The incident occurred when Frempah, in charge of Police Service Motorbike AS 8297 22, was navigating the outskirts of Gbimsi Village near Savelugu.
Sadly, he collided with a Toyota Sienta vehicle bearing registration number AS 5979 21, driven by Francis Baba, 34, with five passengers on board.
According to police reports, the collision resulted in Frempah’s immediate demise, while miraculously, the driver and passengers of the Toyota Sienta escaped unscathed.
Following the accident, a police team under ASP Mr. W Fuseini’s leadership rushed to the scene.
They transported Frempah’s body to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where Dr. Mohammed Wumpini confirmed his passing.
Subsequently, his body was taken to the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The driver of the Toyota Sienta has been apprehended to aid in the ongoing investigations, while both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized for further examination.
