Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, former Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has launched a scathing attack on Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a failure in managing the country’s economy.
In an interview with Accra-based ChannelOne TV, Ampofo criticized Dr. Bawumia for attempting to distance himself from the economic woes plaguing the nation. “As the Vice President, it is your government. You are an integral part and the number two most important person,” Ampofo emphasized.
He continued, “When he was appointed, the president indicated he was bringing Dr. Bawumia because of his economic prowess and credentials to come and salvage the economy. So, he’s completely a failure.”
Ampofo also compared Dr. Bawumia unfavorably to Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, praising Kyerematen’s innovative solutions as a stark contrast to Bawumia’s performance. “I wonder why a sitting Vice President would go and be making a certain statement and have forgotten his role as the Chairman of the Economic Management Team,” Ampofo said.
The former NDC Chairman’s remarks are a sharp rebuke of Dr. Bawumia’s economic management, highlighting the Vice President’s failure to deliver on his promises to improve the economy.
