Ghanaian musician Showboy has declared that he may revert to a life of crime if his music career does not receive sufficient support. This ultimatum has sent shockwaves through the music industry and sparked a heated debate about the struggles faced by musicians in Ghana.
In a recent interview on Adom FM, Showboy expressed his frustration, stating, “I want Ghanaians to support my music because if you don’t support me, I will go and do fraud, I don’t want to do that again.” He revealed that he had learned fraudulent activities, including armed robbery, in his past and would consider returning to them if his music career fails.
When questioned about his past experiences, Showboy openly admitted, “Certainly, I’ve had my share of experiences. I’ve been a kleptomaniac. People often come here and deceive you, don’t they? But I choose to be honest, to share my truth.”
Showboy emphasized the harsh reality of the music industry in Ghana, stating, “In Ghana, there is no work here, and the way I have been exposed to money, I wouldn’t have any other option.” His words have sparked a heated discussion about the need for support and resources for musicians in Ghana.
