Sarkodie Endorses Guru for UG SRC Presidency

Renowned Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has thrown his weight behind Guru’s bid for the presidency of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) at the University of Ghana.

During his performance at the Pent Hall Week Artiste Night on Friday, May 24, 2024, Sarkodie urged the student body to vote for Guru, emphasizing that his leadership will bring positive change to the institution and create opportunities for creatives.

“If you want me to come here again, then make Guru the President of the SRC,” Sarkodie said, expressing his confidence in Guru’s ability to lead. “I know Guru, and I know he will make a good leader.”

Guru joins a growing list of public figures who have ventured into student politics, following in the footsteps of Samini, who led the SRC at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
