“I learned from my father that Kennedy Agyapong and I are blood relatives” – Obinim Reveals

Bishop Daniel Obinim, the general overseer of International Godsway Church, has disclosed that his longtime critic, Kennedy Agyapong, is actually a relative.

During a recent sermon, Obinim shared that Agyapong’s consistent references to him as a brother in media appearances prompted him to investigate their family ties. To his surprise, he discovered that they are indeed blood relatives.

“To my astonishment, I learned that Kennedy Agyapong and I are indeed blood relatives,” Obinim said. “On one occasion, he publicly referred to me as his brother, expressing regrets for his actions had he known our familial ties. This led me to inquire with my father, who confirmed our relationship, explaining that his elder brother was married to Kennedy Agyapong’s mother. This news took me by surprise.”

Following this discovery, Obinim extended forgiveness to the Assin Central MP for all the distress he had caused, including a past incident where he preemptively announced the passing of Agyapong’s father. “I recall the recent passing of Kennedy Agyapong’s father. I was the first to break the news, even before Kennedy himself. It was at that moment that I fully forgave him. His well-being matters to me, and we have since reconciled.”

Obinim’s comments came as he reflected on the years of accusation and torment he endured from Agyapong, who had labeled him a fraudulent man of God. Despite this, Obinim chose to pardon Agyapong, citing their newfound family connection as the reason.
