”After meeting as a coalition to assess the conciliatory gesture of the MP, the plea by the Minister of Information designate and her deputy designate and the positive feedback from the Management of Citi/FM, the GJA and its partners have decided to end the media boycott placed on Honourable Farouk Aliu Mahama, MP for Yendi. Why Media black list of Marouk Mahama
The blackout was enforced following allegations that Farouk Mahama had assaulted Mohammed Aminu Alabira, the Northern Regional Correspondent of Citi FM/TV, during the NPP Parliamentary primaries on January 27, 2024.

At a media briefing in Accra, President of the GJA, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, called on Journalists to adhere to the lifting of the ban and comply accordingly.

Mr. Dwumfour expressed his disappointment in the NPP for the silence on assaults against Journalists in the country, urging authorities to release a Statement on investigations into Ahmed Suale’s death.

He further cautioned the Media to maintain professionalism in the upcoming elections.
