“I Don’t Know Why They Haven’t Fired Dampare” – Afia Schwarzenegger

Controversial socialite Afia Schwarzenegger has publicly lambasted the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, for failing to address the persistent disrespect and cyberbullying faced by celebrities in Ghana.

During a recent TikTok live session with dancehall artist Shatta Wale, Afia expressed her frustration and disappointment with the IGP’s inaction on the issue, despite his earlier promises to combat cyberbullying. She described their meeting in October 2023 as “ineffective” and “absurd,” and labeled the IGP’s lack of action as “infuriating.”

She recalled, “Remember the meeting we had with the IGP? That stupid gathering? He assured us that cyber bullying will be tackled. But Dampare, he infuriates me. His demeanor resembles that of a lost child on a soccer field.

“He never speaks truthfully! What has come of that futile meeting? Seriously, I don’t know why they have not fired Dampare. I don’t know why that man is still there. Ghana is not safe because of him. He iis more interested in his appearance, in publicity, and nothing else.”

Shatta Wale supported Afia’s concerns, noting that speaking out often leads to being labeled disrespectful. Afia countered by emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and called for the IGP’s removal, stating, “Ghana is not safe because of him. I don’t know why they have not fired Dampare. I don’t know why that man is still there.”

This outburst comes amid Afia’s ongoing campaign against the invasive probing into celebrities’ private lives during interviews, which she believes has reached the level of harassment. She also criticized the public discourse surrounding the separation of Fella Makafui and Medikal, saying their private matters have received excessive attention on social media.
