Ghanaian Highlife legend Nana Acheampong has finally revealed the real reasons behind his split with former partner and colleague, Daddy Lumba. In a recent interview, Acheampong clarified that the beloved Lumba brothers’ decision to go their separate ways was not due to any disagreement, but rather a desire to grow as solo artists.
According to Acheampong, the duo’s distance from each other, particularly when Daddy Lumba moved to a different city in Germany, made it challenging to continue working together. Despite their initial success and strong partnership, the stress of transportation and logistics led them to focus on their individual music careers.
Acheampong emphasized that there was no conflict or “beef” between them, and they remain supportive of each other’s work. “There is no beef between us. You can even call him and he will verify what I said. I haven’t offended him, he hasn’t offended me either, we are still in touch with each other”, he said.
Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba have been together as Lumba Brothers as well as individually made great songs over the years and patrons are sure to be treated to non-stop quality music.
Some of the songs that thrilled music lovers are Yenka Ntam, Aban Nsa Aka Wo, Yee Ye Aka Akwantuom, Nko Gya me and Odo Fakye.
