Ghana’s National Communications Authority (NCA) is calling for a collaborative effort to improve the country’s telecommunications industry.
At a recent forum held at the University of Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale, NCA Chairman Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II addressed stakeholders, stressing the importance of continuous development and consumer protection.
Danquah II highlighted the need for ongoing advancements in the telecom sector. He emphasized that these advancements are crucial for ensuring seamless service delivery – a key factor in achieving satisfied customers.
The NCA itself is committed to safeguarding the interests of all stakeholders, with a particular focus on consumer rights. Danquah II called for continued efforts to promote “transparency, integrity, and justice in consumer affairs.”
Consumers are not left out of the equation. The NCA is urging them to be vigilant and knowledgeable about their rights. “Together we can safeguard the rights of consumers in the telecoms space,” Danquah II declared.
Collaboration is seen as a key driver for progress. The NCA Chairman emphasized the importance of working together. He encouraged everyone – industry players and consumers alike – to educate others and utilize available resources to address any telecom issues they encounter.
The NCA’s commitment extends beyond pronouncements. They have assured the public of their ongoing efforts in advocacy and consumer empowerment. The ultimate goal, according to the NCA, is to build a telecom industry that prioritizes the well-being and satisfaction of its consumers.
The forum itself, themed “Safeguarding Consumer Rights Through Effective Communications,” serves as a testament to the NCA’s commitment. This platform provides a valuable space for addressing telecommunication-related issues and engaging directly with consumers. The forum aligns perfectly with the NCA’s mandate as outlined in the Electronic Communications Act (Act 775).
By working together – embracing advancements, protecting consumer rights, and fostering collaboration – the NCA hopes to build a brighter future for Ghana’s telecommunications industry, ensuring a service that benefits everyone.
