The Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on Monday saw five traditional rulers swearing an oath of allegiance before Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
They included Anyinasehene Nana Poku Ware, Kwasohene Nana Osei Fosu Adutwum, Patriensahene Nana Amoapim Asare Baffour II, Appiadu-Kokobenhene Nana Kofi Kodua and Akokofehene Nana Osako Adu Panin.
Each chief took his turn along with their elders to pledge their allegiance to the Occupant of the Golden Stool.
Before that, each received advice from each of the Divisions of the Council on April 8, 2024, at the Manhyia Palace.
The new traditional authorities were charged to uphold the dignity of the Great Oath, strive for the development of their respective jurisdictions, uphold stool rites, be unifiers and set their minds up to leave legacies to their names.
Otumfuo in his counsel to each of the chiefs charged them to prioritize the need to stay humble.
