Ghanaian Comedian Funny Face Granted Bail After Traffic Incident

Ghanaian comedian Funny Face was granted bail on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, by the Kasoa District Court. He had been remanded into police custody two weeks prior, on Tuesday, March 26th, following a traffic accident.

The Accident

On Sunday, March 24th, Funny Face was involved in a collision at the Kakraba Junction on the Kasoa-Nyanyano Kakraba highway. The incident resulted in injuries to several people. Three pedestrians crossing the road were struck by Funny Face’s vehicle, and two motorcyclists were also injured in the subsequent crash.

Court Proceedings

Despite the hearing being held outside the courtroom, bail was initially denied to Funny Face. He was remanded in custody for two weeks.

Current Status

Following the bail hearing on April 9th, Funny Face was released on a bail of GHC120,000 with two sureties. He is expected to reappear in court in four weeks.

Victims’ Condition

Reports indicate that two of the injured pedestrians are receiving treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, while the other two are being cared for at the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa.
