Two people are confirmed dead and five others are in critical condition following a horrific accident involving a trotro (mini commercial bus) in Sokoban, Kumasi.
According to witnesses, the accident occurred when the trotro suffered a brake failure and collided with another bus.
A middle-aged woman attempting to escape the crash by exiting the vehicle was struck by the out-of-control trotro, which then flipped and landed on top of her. Sadly, she did not survive.
Another woman involved in the accident was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Five other passengers on the trotro sustained critical injuries and were immediately transported to the hospital for treatment.
This is a sad reminder of the importance of road safety.
