SIC Insurance Formally Presents New MD To Otumfuo
The new Managing Director of SIC Insurance PLC, Ms. Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, was formally introduced to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace during a courtesy call.
The state-owned company made a formal introduction of the female lawyer and journalist as successor to Mr Stephen Oduro on Friday, March 15, 2024.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Vice President of SIC Agents Association, Mr Enoch Owusu sought the blessings of His Majesty for the new leader as she takes control of the affairs of the company.
He further extended the company’s well wishes to the King on his 25th Anniversary and donated an amount of GHC10, 000 in support of the Palace.
For her part, the new MD conveyed her deepest sense of gratitude to the King, ascribing her feat to the consistent prayers and blessings the King unleashes on her on her visits to the Palace.
Ms Yentumi is a graduate of the University of Ghana where she obtained a degree in Law and Political Science, a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, and a Master of Laws (LL. M.) from the University of Maryland’s Francis King Carey School of Law.
She also holds Diploma in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
His Majesty in his submission linked her appointment to her dedication and expertise.
“Your experience and expertise have afforded you the new position. I know she will continue to give out her best.”
He also highlighted the need for the support and assistance of her subordinates in her leadership to make the company thrive.
“She won’t be successful at her new role without your contribution and you must remember that your contribution will also bring you into the limelight for any promotion that may arise. Supervise and direct her when she is erring.”
Additionally, His Majesty called for review of state policies to give SIC Insurance the sole right to insure state properties.
“There must be policies in place to ensure state-owned companies and properties insure with you. If not all, it must be such that majority of them patronize your services. We will have to jaw-jaw with the government on this.”
Among the delegation were the General Manager in charge of Technical, Mrs Cynthia Kwateng Tuffuor, the General Manager in charge of Finance and Administration, Mr Kenneth Acolatse and the Kumasi Area Manager, Mrs Adwoa Asenso Gyambibi.
