Nyindam Thanks Minority for Support

The embattled Member of Parliament (MP) for Kpandai Constituency, Mathew Nyindam, has expressed his gratitude to the Minority in Parliament for their support amid the ongoing dispute over his parliamentary seat.
In an interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, Nyindam said the Minority’s backing underscored that he has not been treated fairly.
“I thank the Minority for showing brotherhood and making it clear that I have been treated unjustly. For that, I am grateful,” he stated.
He further noted that even some members of the Majority recognize that he has faced unfair treatment.
“No one welcomes the disruptions in Parliament, but sometimes, if no one speaks on your behalf, what choice do you have?” he remarked.
Nyindam’s comments come after Speaker Alban Bagbin decided to defer a ruling on the disputed Kpandai parliamentary seat.
Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh had argued that no government business should proceed until the matter was resolved. However, the Speaker ruled—following a voice vote—that parliamentary sessions would continue.
In response, the Minority disrupted proceedings by chanting and attempting to stall the session, leading to a tense standoff between the two sides. Earlier, tensions rose when the Minority blocked Mahama Ayariga from addressing demands to retract a December 4, 2025 letter from the Clerk to Parliament, further intensifying the dispute.
