Brandon Thomas-Asante Injury Concern

- Coventry City’s Brandon Thomas-Asante leaves match early due to a hamstring problem
- Coventry wins 4-2 at Middlesbrough, staying top of the Championship table
- Lampard confirms injury requires caution; scans planned to assess severity
Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has voiced concern over the injury suffered by Ghana international Brandon Thomas-Asante during their clash with Middlesbrough.
Thomas-Asante was forced to leave the pitch before the 30-minute mark, but Coventry secured a 4-2 victory at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday, retaining their spot atop the Championship table.
Speaking after the match, Lampard confirmed that the forward had picked up a hamstring issue and stressed the need for caution.
“It’s a hamstring. He said he didn’t feel like it was a major tear, but it tightened up on him,” the Chelsea legend said. “So, it was a good thing he came off. Obviously, it’s a concern for us, and we’ll have to see how he is.”
Thomas-Asante is set to undergo scans to assess the extent of the injury.
The 26-year-old has been in stellar form this season, netting 10 goals and providing three assists in 17 Championship appearances. His performances also earned him the Championship Player of the Month award for October.
