Free access to Google Gemini App for Ghanaian students

- Ghanaian students receive free 12-month access to Google’s Gemini App
- Offer includes 2TB cloud storage and free AI certification training
- Initiative part of government’s digital skills development agenda
The Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam George, has announced that Ghanaian students can now access Google’s Gemini App for free for 12 months, along with 2TB of cloud storage and complimentary AI certification training.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to equip young people with modern digital skills and improve access to advanced technological tools.
“Until December 9, 2025, Ghanaian students can sign up to use @GeminiApp free for 12 months with 2TB storage. You also get free AI Certification training,” Sam George posted on X.
This offer builds on ongoing collaborations between the Ministry of Communications and Google, which have already led to the establishment of the AI Research Lab and the One Million Coders Programme.
Sam George added that these partnerships will continue to grow to benefit more students nationwide. He emphasized that the initiative not only promotes digital literacy but also reduces financial burdens on families.
“This is yet another step to empower our citizens and save money for Ghanaian students and their parents,” he said.
Eligible students can register through the Gemini Pro portal at gemini.google/students and apply for the AI training programme using the provided application form.
The offer is available to all qualifying Ghanaian students until December 9, 2025.
