Residents of Kasoa New Market in the Awutu Senya East Municipality, Central Region, are shocked after the body of a three-day-old baby was discovered dumped near the Okrudu River.
Reports indicate that the infant may have been killed by the mother, who allegedly disposed of the body by the riverside for unknown reasons.
Eyewitnesses told Adom News that animals had already begun feeding on the body when it was found.
Nash Nyande, Director of the Awutu Senya East NADMO, confirmed that the police were immediately notified, and the corpse was retrieved and taken to the Police Hospital mortuary.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect.
