The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has requested that Criminal Court 3 of the High Court in Accra allow it to withdraw and transfer the ongoing extortion case involving former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) CEO Dr. Mustapha Hamid and 10 others to a new court following the filing of a fresh charge sheet.
During proceedings on Thursday, November 13, 2025, OSP prosecutors informed the presiding judge that a new charge sheet, filed on October 17, has been assigned to Criminal Court 4 (CC4).
The OSP noted that the return date for the new case has been set for December 9, 2025.
“We humbly pray that, to ensure a smooth transition, the court allow the same date, December 9, for us to withdraw from this court and proceed to CC4,” the prosecution requested.
