GAF Extends Recruitment Deadline

- GAF extends application deadline to November 7, 2025
- One-week extension due to online portal issues
- Over 12,000 personnel to be recruited within three years
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced a one-week extension of its ongoing recruitment exercise due to technical issues encountered on its online application portal.
In a statement issued in Accra on October 31, 2025, the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, stated that the new application deadline is November 7, 2025.
“The Ghana Armed Forces has extended the deadline for the ongoing recruitment exercise by one week due to technical challenges experienced on the portal during the initial phase,”
the statement explained.
The release, signed by Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, Acting Director General of Public Relations, apologized for the inconvenience and appealed for patience and cooperation from applicants and the public.
The recruitment, which began on October 1, 2025, includes registration and verification centres across all 16 regional capitals and forms part of the government’s plan to recruit about 12,000 personnel into the Armed Forces over the next three years.
Applicants must first purchase an electronic recruitment voucher worth GH¢200 from designated Ghana Post offices before applying through the official portal: apply.mil.gh.
The exercise covers enlistment into the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and eligibility requirements include being a Ghanaian citizen by birth, of good character, and aged 18–25 years for non-tradesmen or up to 27 years for tradesmen.
The GAF warned the public against fake recruitment websites and social media pages promoting fraudulent links on Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, stressing that official information is released only in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times.
The Cyber Security Authority recently revealed that 86 fake social media accounts posing as GAF recruitment sources were detected in a single week.
Meanwhile, Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Genfi reaffirmed that military recruitment “is not for sale” and emphasized that the process remains transparent, fair, and merit-based.
Prospective candidates now have until November 7, 2025, to complete and submit their applications via the official GAF recruitment portal.
