The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the Dormaa East District of the Bono Region has launched a proactive campaign to improve road safety and reduce the risk of accidents caused by poor road conditions.

Led by District NADMO Director Salifu Braima, the initiative is being supported financially by the area’s Member of Parliament and District Chief Executive.

The effort primarily targets the Asuotiano to Nsesresu road and the Akontanim to Kyeremasu stretch, both of which are plagued by potholes that have been linked to frequent road accidents.

“These potholes pose serious hazards, and addressing them is crucial for the safety of motorists and pedestrians,” Mr. Braima said.

He explained that the patching of these roads is intended to reduce accident risks and improve road infrastructure for the benefit of all users.

In addition to road repairs, NADMO has also launched a tree-planting campaign in various schools across Dormaa East. According to Mr. Braima, this effort aims to both protect school environments from wind-related disasters and beautify the surroundings.

“It’s part of our broader mission to raise awareness on disaster preparedness and environmental protection,” he added.
