Ghana’s Black Princesses have taken a major step toward qualification for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, following a commanding 6-0 aggregate victory over Tunisia in the ongoing qualifiers. The team secured a 2-0 win in the first leg and wrapped up the tie with a 4-0 triumph in the return match.

Speaking after the match, Head Coach Charles Sampson emphasized the team’s commitment to a measured approach.

“Our ultimate goal is to qualify for the World Cup, but we’re taking it one match at a time. Now that we’ve completed our task against Tunisia, our focus shifts to the upcoming tie against South Africa,” he stated.

Coach Sampson also shared that he has already begun analyzing Ghana’s next opponent. South Africa began their campaign with an impressive 5-0 victory over Eswatini, and Sampson believes his team is ready for the challenge.

“I’ve watched their match against Eswatini. They’re a strong side, but we are up to the task. Our focus remains on World Cup qualification, and for every opponent we face, we’ll do our homework and find the right strategy to beat them,” he added.

The next round of qualifiers between Ghana and South Africa is set for early next year, as both teams battle for a coveted spot at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
