Nursing Mother Drowns in Eastern Region

A 42-year-old nursing mother, Grace Amanuwaa, has tragically drowned in a pond at Amuana Praso in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region.
According to reports, the incident occurred while Grace was fetching water from a local pond commonly used by residents as a community well.
Her sister, Akua Boatemaa, told Adom News that Grace had a known history of epilepsy and is believed to have suffered a seizure during the process, which led to her accidental drowning.
The body has been transported to the mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
Grace’s husband, Kwabena Ayigbe, who was working on his farm at the time of the incident, has expressed his grief and appealed to the Ghana Police Service to release the body for burial.
