Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo ‘Kantanka’ Passes On

The Kristo Asafo Mission and the Safo Family have officially announced the passing of their esteemed founder and leader, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo, affectionately known as “Kantanka.”
In a statement signed by Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, the family shared that Apostle Safo passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
“With deep sorrow and profound grief, the Safo Family and the Kristo Asafo Church announce the peaceful departure of Ghana’s cherished man of God — a pioneering figure in technology, philanthropy, agriculture, and industry,” the statement read.
Describing him as “a true genius, a source of hope for countless people, and a father to the fatherless,” the family added: “Ghana has truly lost a heroic son and a legendary figure.”
The family also appealed to the public to respect their privacy as they mourn their great loss.
Details regarding the funeral and burial will be communicated in due course.
The statement concluded with a verse from Romans 14:8, reflecting their faith and tribute: “For if we live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die to the Lord.”
Born on August 26, 1948, in Bekwai, Ashanti Region, Apostle Safo rose to national and international recognition as a spiritual leader and technological trailblazer.
He founded the Kantanka Group, making revolutionary advances in agriculture, electronics, and the automobile industry through Kantanka Automobiles.
Apostle Safo was widely celebrated as a visionary who seamlessly integrated faith and innovation, inspiring generations with his commitment to self-reliance and the power of African ingenuity.
