Water Supply Disruption Hits Western Accra – Aug 13

- Ghana Water Ltd. schedules water outage on August 13, 2025, in parts of Accra West
- Emergency repairs to be carried out on a 36-inch main pipeline from Weija Treatment Plant
- Affected areas include Korle-Bu, Dansoman, Odorkor, Kaneshie, Awoshie
Ghana Water Ltd.’s Accra West Region has announced a temporary interruption in water supply across parts of western Accra on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, due to emergency repair works.
The disruption is necessary to carry out urgent maintenance on a major 36-inch transmission pipeline connected to the Weija Treatment Plant.
Affected areas include:
Korle-Bu, Dansoman, Mamprobi, Chorkor, Malam, Gbawe, Ablekuma, Kwashiman, Awoshie, Sowutuom, Santa Maria, Tesano, Abeka, Kaneshie, Odorkor, Dakuman, and nearby communities.
The repair work will take place between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with normal water supply expected to resume shortly after completion.
Ghana Water Ltd. has apologised for the inconvenience and advised residents in the affected areas to store enough water ahead of time to meet their needs during the outage.
