Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has reaffirmed the team’s primary objective of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana currently sits at the top of Group I with 15 points from six games in the qualifiers. The four-time African champions are set to regroup in September for key Matchday 7 and 8 fixtures against Chad and Mali.

Speaking to the media, the Hearts of Oak goalkeeper underlined the importance of qualifying for the tournament.

“Getting to the World Cup is our top priority, and I’m fully focused on the qualifiers in September,” Asare said.

He also urged fans to stand firmly behind the team during the final phase of the campaign.

“I’m asking all Ghanaians to support us in our push for qualification,” he added.

The Black Stars will take on Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Ghana will wrap up the qualifying series in October, with matches against Comoros and the Central African Republic.
