Several people have been injured and livestock killed after a swarm of bees invaded Kwaadwema, a community in the Asante Akyem North Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The incident occurred on Thursday, June 26, 2025, leaving residents in a state of fear and uncertainty.

According to local accounts reported by Adom News, a large beehive has existed in a tree within the town for many years. However, it remains unclear what triggered the aggressive swarm that led to the sudden attack.

In response, residents are appealing to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to urgently fumigate the area to prevent further danger.

Unfortunately, GNFS personnel say they are currently unequipped with the proper fumigation tools, leading to panic and the temporary displacement of some residents who fled in search of safety.

Meanwhile, Municipal NADMO Director, Eric Boateng, has urged the community to remain calm, assuring that steps are being taken to protect both lives and property.
