Grammy-nominated R&B artist Angie Stone has passed away at the age of 63 following a car crash, her daughter confirmed. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Diamond Stone wrote, “My mommy is gone.”
Stone tragically sustained fatal injuries when the van she was traveling in overturned in Alabama early Saturday, shortly after a performance, as reported by various media outlets.

Known for her hits like No More Rain (In This Cloud) and Wish I Didn’t Miss You, Stone received three Grammy nominations throughout her career. She began her musical journey in the 1970s as a member of the pioneering female hip-hop group The Sequence. Their hit song Funk You Up reached number 15 on Billboard’s Hot Soul Singles chart.
Her daughter, Ladi Diamond, who is also a musician, expressed her grief on Facebook, saying she was “numb.” Earlier in the day, she had asked for prayers for her family while on the road.
