A driver was injured in a highway robbery at Agona Asamoakrom, located along the Gomoa Akoti-Agona Kwanyarko road in the Central Region. The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to his arm, is currently receiving medical treatment at the Swedru Government Hospital.
In addition to the driver, several other commuters were also attacked during the incident. These victims suffered machete wounds and lost valuables, including cash, to the assailants.
Amos Quansah, an eyewitness to the robbery, spoke to Adom News about the alarming frequency of such attacks in the area, particularly between Suromanya and Asamoakrom. He urged the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to take immediate action to improve security and ensure the safety of residents and travelers in the region.
