Woman Alleges Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs Assaulted Her at 2000 Party
- Jay-Z Accused of Sexual Assault at 2000 Party
- Jay-Z Denies Allegations, Calls Them "Heinous"
- Sean "Diddy" Combs Also Named in Amended Lawsuit
A woman who initially accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexual assault has amended her lawsuit to include allegations that Jay-Z also assaulted her at the same party. The lawsuit, filed in October, now names Shawn Carter, aka Jay-Z, as a defendant alongside Combs.
Carter has responded to the allegations, calling them “so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” He also described the woman’s lawyer’s request for mediation as a “blackmail attempt.”
The woman, identified as Jane Doe, claims she was 13 years old when she was allegedly assaulted by Combs and Carter at an after-party following the 2000 Video Music Awards. According to the amended lawsuit, Doe began to feel woozy after consuming a drink and wandered into a nearby bedroom, where she alleges Carter raped her first, followed by Combs.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and prostitution-related charges, and has denied all wrongdoing in roughly 30 civil lawsuits filed against him.
The lawsuit alleges that Carter was initially identified as “Celebrity A” and that his lawyers were contacted to request mediation. However, instead of responding, Carter allegedly filed a frivolous lawsuit and orchestrated a conspiracy of harassment, bullying, and intimidation against Doe’s lawyers and their families.
Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, has denied allegations of extortion and intimidation, stating, “The pleading speaks for itself. This is a very serious matter that will be litigated in court.”
Carter expressed concern for his family, stating, “My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”
