- DJ Ikon gets 4 DJ Award nods

Disk Jockey Kwabena Koduah, widely known as DJ Ikon, has received nominations in four categories for the 12th edition of the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, organized by Merqury Republic.
DJ Ikon is recognized in the categories of Male Radio DJ of the Year, Artist DJ of the Year, Event DJ of the Year, and Afrobeats DJ of the Year. He faces stiff competition in the Male Radio DJ of the Year category, going up against notable contenders such as Joy FM’s DJ Wobete, Pluzz FM’s Mr. Shark, and Y FM’s DJ Sly King. In the Afrobeats DJ category, he will compete with prominent names like ADDJ and DJ Quest, among other talented DJs.
As the official DJ for “Cruise Control” and “The Mix Tape Show” on Hitz FM, DJ Ikon is hopeful that this will be his year to win his first award. He expressed optimism about his chances in the categories he is nominated for, highlighting his ambition in the competitive landscape.
In addition to his radio work, DJ Ikon serves as the official DJ for award-winning Ghanaian rapper Kofi Mole.
The organizers of the annual Guinness Ghana DJ Awards Festival have also announced the first wave of performers set to grace the stage on November 9, 2024, at The Palms Convention Center. Performers will include notable artists such as Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kwabena Kwabena, Andy Dosty, and Keche.
Over the past 12 years, the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards night has featured an impressive lineup of performances from various artists, including Kofi Mole, Black Sherif, Medikal, DJ Vyrusky, and many others.
In conjunction with the awards, Merqury Republic hosted the 5th edition of the Ghana DJ Clinic on Saturday, September 7, as part of the Ghana DJ Awards Festival.
