“I did not Anoint Bawumia” – Owusu Bempah Denies Wontumi’s Claims

Story Highlights
  • Rev. Owusu Bempah denies anointing Bawumia
  • Disputes Wontumi's secret meeting claims
  • Calls allegations "laughable" and "baseless"

Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, leader and founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, has firmly dismissed allegations made by Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, regarding an alleged anointing of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next president of Ghana.

In a statement addressing the claims, Owusu Bempah categorically denied any such event, labeling the assertions as false. Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), had claimed that he accompanied Dr. Bawumia to Owusu Bempah’s residence, where the preacher purportedly anointed the Vice President as the chosen successor to President Nana Akufo-Addo.

However, speaking from his pulpit, Owusu Bempah refuted this narrative, asserting that no such meeting took place.

The Reverend also challenged Wontumi’s assertion that he is unable to visit Kumasi following a recent prophecy stating that ex-President John Dramani Mahama would be the next leader of the country. He dismissed these claims as unfounded, emphasizing his continued ties to the Bantama area, where he grew up.

“There is no truth to what Wontumi is saying,” Owusu Bempah stated during a sermon. “I am a Bantama boy, and the claims are laughable. When I was living in Kumasi, Wontumi was just a young boy. He claims he came to my house with the Vice President and that I anointed Bawumia, but that is completely untrue. Even Bawumia himself knows Wontumi is not telling the truth,” he asserted to his congregation.
