This decision comes after deliberation among the commission members, and they are committed to implementing it to ensure transparency.

Dr. Asare made this announcement during a discussion on Joy News on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in response to a call from the African Union High Representative for Silencing the Guns, Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas.

Dr. Chambas urged the EC to rebuild trust among stakeholders ahead of the upcoming elections, emphasizing the importance of making results accessible online.

Dr. Asare assured that the polling station results would be available on the EC’s website well in advance, allowing the public and stakeholders to verify the results.

This move is expected to greatly boost the credibility and transparency of the electoral process, aligning with international best practices.

Dr. Asare clarified that the results would only be uploaded after all polling station data had been collected, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

The EC’s decision to publish polling station results online marks a significant step towards enhancing transparency and trust in the electoral process.

By doing so, the EC demonstrates its commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections, setting a positive precedent for future elections.
