Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has announced the birth of a baby girl, revealing that the child was born “outside of my marriage.” The 55-year-old musician shared the news via Instagram on Tuesday, expressing his commitment to being a “loving and supportive parent” to his new daughter.
Grohl, who has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003, has three daughters with her: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10. In his Instagram post, Grohl conveyed his deep love for his family and stated his dedication to “regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”
The post concluded with a request for privacy and consideration for all involved: “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together. Dave.”
Details regarding the identity of the mother of his new child have not been disclosed. Grohl has disabled comments on the Instagram post, focusing instead on his family matters.
Blum, a former TV producer and model, has been supportive throughout Grohl’s music career. Grohl’s first marriage was to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood, which lasted from 1994 to 1997. The couple divorced following Grohl’s admission of infidelity.
Grohl first gained fame as the drummer for the iconic grunge band Nirvana from 1990 until 1994, when lead singer Kurt Cobain’s death led to the band’s dissolution. Grohl subsequently founded Foo Fighters, achieving significant success with multiple chart-topping albums, including their most recent release, But Here We Are (2023).
