The program’s first session was held in Kumasi, launched by former Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, under the patronage of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
Mr. Dwumfour recognized the dedication of current Information Minister Fatimatu Abubakar, who has been instrumental in sustaining the program.
He praised the Ministry and Government for their commitment to the initiative, which strengthens media freedom and equips the media to fulfill its critical role in society.
In today’s fast-paced media environment, accuracy and reliability are essential to maintain public trust, Mr. Dwumfour noted.
Proper training enables journalists to better engage with their audience and produce trustworthy content, he added.
The media landscape is evolving with new tools and platforms like artificial intelligence, making it vital for media professionals to stay updated to thrive in this digital age.
Capacity-building programs like this one are crucial in preparing media organizations for the future, Mr. Dwumfour emphasized.
He encouraged corporate entities to support the program’s expansion and foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing among media professionals.
