A basic school teacher in Akyeremade, Ashanti Region, has been left devastated after his dream of owning a home was shattered.
The teacher had invested his lifetime savings into building a house on a plot of land he purchased in 2017.
Construction had reached the lintel level when traditional land disputes led to the demolition of the structure.
The teacher had allegedly bought the land from a chief who has since been destooled, leading to a change in leadership.
The new chief, who took over, demanded that the teacher pay a sum of GHS100,000 to validate his ownership of the land.
Unfortunately, the teacher was unable to raise the funds, leading to the destruction of his uncompleted building.
The demolition has left the teacher heartbroken, as he had invested all his savings into the project.
He is now left with nothing, as his dream of owning a home has been reduced to rubble.
The incident has raised concerns about the need for proper land documentation and dispute resolution mechanisms to protect individuals from such losses.
