Baba Sadiq Disagrees with Stonebwoy’s Chances of Winning 2025 VGMA ‘Artiste of the Year’
- Baba Sadiq questions Stonebwoy's chances of winning VGMA 'Artiste of the Year'
- He tips King Paluta and King Promise as top contenders for the award
- Stonebwoy's fans react angrily to Sadiq's comments
Entertainment executive Baba Sadiq has voiced strong disagreement with claims that Stonebwoy would still be favored to win the ‘Artiste of the Year’ award if the 2025 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) were held today.
In response to a social media post suggesting Stonebwoy’s continued dominance in the category, Sadiq questioned the recent quality of Stonebwoy’s music. He argued that other artists, such as King Paluta and King Promise, are currently more deserving of the title due to their recent successful hit songs and notable performances on both local and international stages.
Sadiq specifically lauded King Promise for his ability to headline shows in new markets like Asia, contrasting this with Stonebwoy’s recent year, which Sadiq claims lacked major hit records until the Bhim Concert.
In addition to King Promise and King Paluta, Sadiq mentioned several other strong contenders for the award, including KiDi, Black Sherif, Joe Mettle, and Team Eternity. He believes these artists are currently in a stronger position to claim the prestigious award.
