NPP Sets Dates for Walewale Constituency Primary Re-run
- The NPP has set September 3, 2024, as the start date for nominations
- The Tamale High Court has ordered the re-run
- Candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of GHC 3,000.00
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has outlined the schedule for the re-run of the parliamentary primary in the Walewale constituency.
This decision follows a recent directive from the Tamale High Court mandating a new election for the contested primaries.
Although the full written judgment has yet to be released, the court has instructed that the re-run must adhere to electoral regulations.
Samson Lardy Anyenini, representing the first defendant, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the court’s decision.
According to a statement from the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kudua Frimpong, nominations for the re-run will open on September 3, 2024.
Prospective candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of GHC 3,000.00 through a banker’s draft made out to the New Patriotic Party National Headquarters in Accra.
