Napo Prioritizes Skills Over Nightclubs
- Napo criticises NDC's 24-hour economy policy
- He said the policy would not benefit the country
- He believes that skills development can reduce unemployment
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for its 24-hour economy policy.
He expressed concerns that the policy would not benefit the country, particularly after NDC Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama suggested that nightclubs would also benefit from the policy.
Dr. Prempeh argued that the NDC’s focus on promoting 24-hour nightclubs indicates a lack of ideas and concern for the well-being of citizens, especially the youth.
Instead, he emphasized the NPP’s commitment to empowering people with valuable skills to enhance their future.
He spoke at the 2nd annual conference of the Ghana Unity Professional Tailors and Dressmakers Association, where he highlighted the NPP’s prioritization of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
He believes that skills development can reduce unemployment and contribute to economic growth.
Dr. Prempeh also cautioned against voting for the NDC, which he accused of introducing policies that harm businesses and deepen hardship.
He reminded Ghanaians of the NDC’s past record, including the “Dumsor” power crisis, and warned that they might return the country to a similar situation if elected again.
Overall, Dr. Prempeh emphasized the NPP’s commitment to empowering citizens and promoting economic growth, while criticizing the NDC’s policies as ineffective and harmful.
