Police Secure Convictions for Five Armed Robbers in Ashanti Region

The Ghana Police Service has achieved convictions for five individuals involved in a series of armed robberies in the Ashanti Region.
The convicts—Jeffrey Dwomoh, Clifford Opoku, Kwabena Kyei Barfour, Prince Opuni, and Henry Kusi Marfo—faced charges including conspiracy to commit robbery, actual robbery, aiding and abetting crimes by supplying ammunition, and receiving stolen goods.
Jeffrey Dwomoh and Clifford Opoku were each sentenced to 120 years of hard labor after being found guilty of conspiracy and robbery.
Kwabena Kyei Barfour received a 105-year prison term for dishonestly receiving stolen goods.
Prince Opuni, convicted of reckless driving, was fined 350 penalty units or sentenced to 10 months in prison and required to pay GH¢5,000 for damaging a police vehicle.
Henry Kusi Marfo, who was found guilty of supplying ammunition, was fined 1,050 penalty units or faced 15 months in prison, though he has already paid the fine.
Richard Dogbatsey and William Ansah were acquitted of the charge of abetting robbery.
The convicted individuals’ faces are now public as they are no longer suspects but confirmed convicts.
