Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has expressed confidence that her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will be sworn in as Ghana’s first Muslim President on January 7, 2025.
She believes this feat will be a significant milestone in the country’s political history.
Samira Bawumia made these remarks while addressing a rally in Wenchi, Bono Region, as part of her campaign tour to canvass votes for her husband.
She attributed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) choice of Dr. Bawumia as their flagbearer to his integrity, humility, hard work, and proven track record.
According to her, Dr. Bawumia is ready to serve the nation with integrity and humility, utilizing all his capabilities.
Samira Bawumia also debunked the notion that the NPP is an Akan-based party, emphasizing that her husband’s selection as the presidential candidate disproves this perception.
She expressed hope and confidence that Dr. Bawumia could turn the country’s fortunes around if given the opportunity to serve as President.
The Second Lady emphasized the NPP’s commitment to the welfare of Muslims and the holistic development of Muslim communities, urging electorate, particularly those in Zongo communities, to vote for the party.
