Ghanaian musician King Paluta has addressed the recent criticism from entertainment pundit Kwaku Osei Koranteng Asiedu, known as KOKA, regarding his vocal performance on the track “Makoma.”
In an interview with Kwadwo Sheldon, King Paluta voiced his disagreement with KOKA’s comments about his vocal abilities. The musician speculated that KOKA’s critique might have been affected by the context in which he heard the song.
“I don’t know the kind of mood KOKA was in when he made those comments about my vocal ability. You can sometimes get annoyed with a particular song when you hear it being played everywhere you go. Maybe he was annoyed with the song when he sat there to make his comments,” King Paluta suggested.
The artist, known for his hit “Aseda,” pointed out that several of his industry peers, recognized for their own singing talents, have praised his vocal skills. This has left him puzzled over KOKA’s critique. “Our own industry singers have called to tell me I don’t sound like a rapper trying to sing. They have recognized me as a singer, so they don’t understand why it took me so long to transition into singing. I don’t know what senior man (KOKA) is talking about,” he remarked.
King Paluta also highlighted the positive feedback he has received from music producer Kaywa, who has praised his unique vocal tone. “Kaywa has a great musical mind and has appreciated my unique tone,” he said.
