Shiloh Jolie Officially Drops “Pitt” From Her Name

Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, one of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s six children, has officially removed “Pitt” from her name. A Los Angeles court granted her petition on Monday, changing her name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

Shiloh, who turned 18 on May 27, initially filed the petition on her birthday. This move makes her the first of the Jolie-Pitt children to legally formalize the omission of “Pitt” from her name. While other Jolie-Pitt children have informally dropped “Pitt,” Shiloh’s name change marks a significant legal step.

Reports indicate that Shiloh’s sister, Vivienne, was recently listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in a Broadway program for “The Outsiders.”

Along with Shiloh and Vivienne, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt share four other children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Knox.

Angelina Jolie herself had previously filed for a name change in 2002, removing her father Jon Voight’s surname following a strained relationship.

Jolie and Pitt, who were together for a decade before marrying in 2014, began their divorce proceedings in 2016. Although a judge declared them single in 2019, their divorce remains unresolved, with ongoing disputes over custody and financial matters.

In addition to their divorce issues, the actors have been entangled in legal disputes regarding their shared business interests and property, including a winery in France. Jolie’s 2022 court filing included allegations of an altercation on a 2016 flight, during which Pitt reportedly grabbed her by the head, shook her, and engaged in physical altercations with their children.

Representatives for Shiloh Jolie did not respond to requests for comment. The news of Shiloh’s name change was first reported by celebrity website TMZ.
