We’ll Extend Driver’s Licence Renewal To 10 years – Bawumia
- Bawumia highlighted the inconvenience of the current two-year renewal cycle
- He proposed extending the renewal period to eight or ten years
- The proposed change aims to improve efficiency and convenience
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, has suggested extending the validity of driver’s licenses to up to 10 years.
Dr Bawumia, criticized the current two-year renewal requirement as impractical.
Addressing supporters during his campaign tour in Akwatia, Eastern Region, the vice president argued that the existing system is cumbersome for drivers.
He emphasized that it is unnecessary for licenses to expire every two years, urging for a more extended renewal period.
“As drivers ourselves, we face the inconvenience of renewing our licenses every two years. Why should this be the case? We propose extending the renewal period to eight or ten years. It’s time to simplify the process and reduce the need for frequent renewals,” he asserted.
