Two high-ranking executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sekyere Afram Plains (Drobonso) constituency have been remanded in custody by the Effiduase Circuit Court. The executives, Justice Amo, the Constituency Secretary, and Samson Boamah, the first Vice Constituency Chairman, are accused of stealing 45 electrical poles meant for the supply of electricity to parts of Drobonso.

The stolen poles were intended to power an E-Block school, among other areas, leaving the community without access to reliable electricity. The court’s decision to remand the executives comes after they were arraigned on charges of theft, which they denied.

Despite their pleas, the court ruled that they should be held in police custody for the next three weeks, pending further investigation and trial. Two other individuals, Musah Seidu, a driver with Zoomlion, and Enoch Takyi, an electrician, have also been remanded in connection with the alleged theft.

The case has sparked widespread outrage in the community, with many calling for swift justice and accountability. The stolen electrical poles are valued at a significant amount, and their theft has caused inconvenience to the community.

The NPP executives’ alleged involvement in the theft has raised questions about their integrity and commitment to serving the community. The next court hearing is eagerly awaited, as the community seeks justice and resolution to the case.
