Actress Yvonne Nelson has shared that her new book, I Am Not Yvonne Nelson, has been a profoundly therapeutic experience for her, marking a significant personal journey.
During a graduation ceremony at her school, Nelson spoke about the lengthy and transformative process of writing the book, which she described as a remarkable journey. She emphasized that the process took years and was far from the overnight achievement some might assume.
“It’s been a wonderful ride. I worked on this book for a long time, contrary to what people might think—that I just woke up one day and wrote it in a week,” Nelson told Joy News. “We all have difficulties and things we don’t discuss with others, and writing this book has been a significant form of therapy for me. I have much more to share, but we’ll see what the future holds.”
In I Am Not Yvonne Nelson, Nelson opens up about her life, revealing that she does not know her biological father, as the man she had believed was her father was not her biological parent. The book delves into her childhood and the various challenges she has overcome to reach her current position.
