President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has vowed to step down and facilitate a smooth transition of power once his term concludes.
He reaffirmed his commitment to upholding democratic traditions by ensuring a peaceful handover of authority at the end of his presidency.
“I will gladly step down as president on January 7th, joining the ranks of distinguished predecessors like Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor who also served two terms,” Akufo-Addo stated during a Senior Citizens luncheon at the Jubilee House on August 5.
Akufo-Addo described his two-term presidency as the greatest honor of his life.
He also emphasized his commitment to overseeing a fair and peaceful election in December, ensuring that the democratic process is upheld with the support of all Ghanaians.
