The Ghana Women’s U-20 team, the Black Princesses, secured a resounding 4-0 victory over Women’s Premier League champions Hasaacas Ladies in a friendly match on Friday at the Cape Coast Stadium.
This win marks a significant milestone in their preparation for the 2024 U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
Salamatu Abdulai led the charge with two goals, while Princess Owusu and Abiba Issah contributed one goal each to seal the win for Coach Yussif Basigi’s side.
Abdulai’s second goal came just five minutes into the second half, doubling the lead for the Black Princesses.
Late goals from Owusu and Issah cemented the victory.
This friendly served as a valuable test for both teams, with Hasaacas Ladies gearing up to represent Ghana in the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers later this month.
Coach Basigi continues to assess his players’ strengths ahead of naming his final squad for the World Cup.
Ghana is set to face Austria, New Zealand, and former champions Japan in Group E at the tournament, which kicks off on August 31.
The Black Princesses’ convincing win over Hasaacas Ladies bodes well for their World Cup preparations.
