The Osu Traditional Council has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo to accelerate the approval process for the anti-LGBTQ bill to prevent divine retribution on Ghana.

This appeal follows announcements by bill supporters about plans to protest against the Chief Justice on August 21, 2024, accusing her of delaying the bill’s submission to the President.

During a recent meeting, Nuumo Gbelenfo III, the Acting President of the Osu Traditional Council, urged prompt action on the bill.

“If same-sex marriage were the norm, we would have seen our president marry a man. Clearly, that is not the case. Therefore, I urge the President to act swiftly and sign the bill into law to protect Ghana from divine displeasure,” he stated.

He described LGBTQ practices as abhorrent and emphasized the need for both the President and the Chief Justice to take necessary actions to avoid God’s anger.
